Choosing a product name is never a random act. It’s the meeting point between what the product represents and the emotions we want to share with the people who use it. Each name tells a story, a bridge between technical performance and collective imagination because, in the end, a product is never just a technical solution: it’s an experience to be lived.

Here are some behind-the-scenes stories about the names of our most iconic products.

Voodoo

A unique black back, a powerful product with extraordinary performance. To us, it felt almost “magical.”

Playing with the idea of black magic – without taking it literally – we chose Voodoo: an evocative, mysterious name that reflects the special aura of this product.

Lumière and Luz

Light means movement, inspiration, and life. For our backlit products, we wanted names that could celebrate this universal value. That’s how we looked to Europe:

  • Lumière, a direct tribute to Paris, the Ville Lumière, a symbol of elegance and innovation.
  • Luz, the Portuguese word for light, carrying the charm of Lisbon’s unique brightness.

Ming and Fong

Roots are part of who we are, and our Chinese manufacturing soul deserved to be celebrated. We chose two simple yet meaningful words:

  • Ming, meaning “bright,” the perfect choice for a backlit product.
  • Fong, meaning “wind,” a poetic image we associated with a flagship product, free and flowing like a flag waving in the air.

Yoga

Some products have a rare quality: flexibility. We needed a name that could capture this in a clear and universal way.

The answer was simple: Yoga, a discipline that embodies elasticity, harmony, and adaptability.
